the process of getting a specialist opinion as easy

Does a referral account for verifiable CPD?
Our e-Consultations have the added benefit of an on-the-job
training effect. Each referral accounts for 1 hour of
verifiable CPD. You will be awarded a Dental-Consults
CPD certificate for each completed case.
How do
I become a member?
Dental-Consults needs you to be a registered dentist
in the country in which you practice. Click here

How
do I make a referral?
The
referring dentist logs into our secure web-server,
fills in the patient's details, specific reasons for
consultation, chief complaints, provisional diagnosis
information, attaches intra-oral images and dental
radiographs. The specialist is notified immediately
of the new referral. The specialist subsequently logs
into the secure web-server and reviews the consult
and suggests his diagnosis and treatment plan within
five working days after receipt of the complete patient
case. The referring dentist is then informed by email
to retrieve this information. Further discussion,
if required is possible. A service
preview is available to view online or download.
How quickly
will you respond to a referral?
Our consultant will suggest a diagnosis and treatment
plan within five working days after receipt of the
complete patient case.
What
hours are you available?
Dental-Consults is an 'open' round the clock service,
accessible 24 hours, 7 days a week.
Can all
patients be diagnosed by teledentistry?
For our system to work effectively, the referring
dentist must ensure that all the necessary clinical
information is contained in the original record. This
is relatively easy to achieve in routine cases. However,
in unusual and complex cases, it is more certain for
the patient to have a face to face consultation and
we would suggest this. The quality and speed of video-conferencing
over the Internet is currently poor for domestic users,
as they are limited by the speed of the conventional
56 kbps modem.
The
referring dentist remains responsible for the patient's
primary diagnosis and is responsible for evaluating
the report and communicating any information in the
report to the patient.
Is it secure
to use Dental-Consults?

This
site has security measures in place to protect
the loss, misuse and alteration of the information
under our control. These security measures include
encryption techniques and site-wide backups. To
ensure that data is stored and transferred safely
and securely, hardware and technical solutions
that meet international standards have been implemented.

Electronic
firewall protection and encryption devices have been
integrated into the Dental-Consults network to prevent
unauthorised access to your records.
Please note that you should NEVER give your password
to another person. Dental-Consults will NEVER ask
you for your password.
What
happens to my information?
Patient confidentiality and security is paramount
and no clinical information or identifying data will
be passed onto a third party. Dental-Consults also
employs the standards of recognised accreditation
organisations such as "Health
on the Net" and abides by the provisions
of relevant privacy legislation.Your record is only
kept online while you subscribe to the service. Data
related to consultations made will be kept offline
for the periods required by the various international
data regulations.

do I pay?
We
accept on-line payment by Visa, Mastercard, Eurocard,
Switch, Solo and Delta. Your credit card will be billed
as "Dental-Consults Limited". No further
details of the consultation are reported to your credit
provider.
Your fee will be billed in your local currency. Dental-Consults
use an accredited secure payment gateway provider
WorldPay to process payment fees. Dental-Consults
does not store credit card details. Please read our
